' To Stop' list

Everyday as I check in office ,I see lots of sticky notes pasted on boards, strewn  around wastebaskets. They were yesterday's 'TO DO' lists. Much of accomplished work ,ticked boxes or some not ticked too.A very good way to organize your work and get things accomplished. I have lot to be accomplished in my mind too. But my mind play games. It takes me to the trip of a far away land , land of apprehensions, sometime land of doubts and land of fear too. A dreamland of expectations has been visited a lot by me. Guilt trips are too often for a working mom like me who juggle PTA meets and boardroom meetings. Eureka! Seeing these sticky notes around, made me realize that what We need more is 'TO STOP' list; more than the To Do list to get us ahead with our work. Every morning lets make mental notes as well as visible reminders also of our 'To Stop' list.  What I need to tell my mind To Stop doing today is: Stop expecting and start giving Stop Telling an

I Wish You Well

Cuss cuss cuss cuss…… You are on an Indian road, stuck in traffic, loud honks, animals in the middle of the road, local  cabbies driving as if they own the roads…All this madness is enough to overwhelm you to cough out a few cuss words which your mom always refrained you to use from. The dilemma becomes further agonizing when you are a soft skill trainer and are supposed to train others’ right conducts and to be lady like. What you do? Push your foot hard on the brake paddle and scream with your car………Screeeeeeeeeeechhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. NO Talking about our troubles is our biggest habit. Break the Habit and talk about joys. You are not your thoughts. You are not your feelings. They are part of you, but not the entirety of you. Learn to be aware of them rather than become them. Whenever you feel stressed, STOP and just breath.be grateful that you are safe and healthy. On road you can be grateful of the comforts of your car, cool air when temperature on road is 48 degrees.

Live ....Stop Trying!

No matter how much you try.... You wont be able to make everyone happy. There will always be something you could not do for the other side. There are parents ,teachers, friends, colleagues and people around you in all shapes and sizes.everyone expect something or other from you.You are expected to dress in a particular manner, speak courteously ,eat graciously, work your ass off ,learn for life ;still its not enough. You will never be enough,So WHY worry? Do your best ,leave the rest.So what is our best? Only you can decide.Set the expectations right from the beginning. If you have already given high hopes to others, its never too late to set the boundaries right. People will forget what you said or did,They will only remember the way you made them feel. Build a daily gratitude habit and feel more positive, less stressed, and sleep better.Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire .Moment when you are all fiery and living full; the crowd around you will set itself t

Humour –The Humane Religion

From the ancient Vedic sages to modern religious thinkers, each stress on avoiding sins to be liberated from the cycles of births and rebirths, or they propose abstinence from bad deeds to avoid Hell. Mankind has always been scared by the concept of hell, punishment or Satan by our religions in order to be disciplined and regulated. Some new religions and Zen philosophies propagate the path of moderation-neither to be happy nor sad. Why we need all the negativity to keep people structured and synchronized with societal norms? Why a stick is always used to control the herd? Why can’t we stress on doing more kind deeds, smiling and laughing with fellow citizens to bring home harmony in society. Why can’t we use the carrots of sharing the positive deeds and attitude of understanding to develop a sense of achievement? From the time immemorial the negative has been stressed instead of Positive. People need not to be Abstainers or Moderator in order to be happy and contended. T
Cogito Ergo Sum (I Think Therefore I am) Desecrates said I think therefore I am, centuries ago. Man is a thinking animal; this is what distinguishes us from other species. Act of thinking make us special and important. But, what to think and how to think? From the day of birth a child is taught and trained. Taught to walk, taught to talk, how to sit or stand, rules of hygiene, rules to act or react and so on. I just mean to say that we are taught and trained to act in socially acceptable way. But the most important thing to teach is never in curriculum. What is that?????? The most important skill to be trained in is thinking. We have phrases in common use like… ‘Think before you leap’, ‘thought provoking act’ etc…. .  We are asked to think but no one tell us how? Teachers use High Order Thinking (HOT) questions to test my understanding of concepts. But no one teach me to think. In school language is taught using grammar rules. Maths is taught using formulae.
