' To Stop' list

Everyday as I check in office ,I see lots of sticky notes pasted on boards, strewn  around wastebaskets. They were yesterday's 'TO DO' lists. Much of accomplished work ,ticked boxes or some not ticked too.A very good way to organize your work and get things accomplished.

I have lot to be accomplished in my mind too. But my mind play games. It takes me to the trip of a far away land , land of apprehensions, sometime land of doubts and land of fear too. A dreamland of expectations has been visited a lot by me. Guilt trips are too often for a working mom like me who juggle PTA meets and boardroom meetings.

Eureka!

Seeing these sticky notes around, made me realize that what We need more is 'TO STOP' list; more than the To Do list to get us ahead with our work. Every morning lets make mental notes as well as visible reminders also of our 'To Stop' list.

What I need to tell my mind To Stop doing today is:
  • Stop expecting and start giving
  • Stop Telling and start showing
  • Stop being in control
  • Stop feeling guilty of the mess in your room(Sunday is just five days ahead 😅)
  • Stop judging and give others a chance
  • Stop eating Junk🐷
  • Stop giving excuses to avoid exercise
  • Stop fighting those positive thoughts your mind sends you😃
Lets improve our emotional resilience to be more positive and happier. Gift yourself Self Compassion for improved productivity. So if you need to get a lot accomplished.......Go! have a TO STOP list on your desk.

Happiness-Truest and Highest Expression of You

What is Happiness? Surrounded by best of things! Surrounded by Best Of people! Travelling the world luxuriously! No sadness in the world! No Poverty! No pain! No war, No one Starving! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Are you living in a Utopian  age? To quote Nataly Kogan,a corporate happiness sherpa, 'Happiness is not the absence of negative emotions. You’re not failing happiness because you feel sad or angry. Let yourself feel what you feel, but don’t lose sight of the little moments of warmth, compassion, or beauty that are always there, even if you have to wipe your tears to see them.' You Are Enough. You are lovable, amazing and deserving of true genuine happiness exactly the way you are. May be you have to align your thoughts more towards being mindful of your happiness but You don’t have to do anything more to earn it. You’re a being, not a doing. You are not your thoughts. You are not your feelings. They are part of you, but not the entirety of you. Learn t...

Mastering Interviews

bhabb bhabb bhabbb bhab................... The heart is ready to explode and brain is bursting on the seams. What are they going to ask?How will I answer their questions? Will my explanations be enough to satisfy their curiosity? What if I fell down while entering? My hands are sweaty ,it will leave a bad impression. So many Ifs and buts before an interview.  First of all Congratulations on landing this interview.Rejoice in the glory as many who applied  have not been asked to be there. Now the question is .....What makes the recruiter Tick? Psychology is more important than logic. What makes a few brands/people eternal is their grasp of human psychology. They know how to nail the stuff about us as human beings. They know how to handle the questions thrown to them.In fact they see beyond the question and decipher the coded meaning between the lines. "There are no stupid questions, but do you have smart answers?" Questions they ask and what they are really asking is differ...

Be a Copy Cat!

Two decades ago when I visited a restaurant for the first time with cousins, I didn’t know how to use my fork or where to place a serviette? I never wanted to embarrass my cousin that he has brought his small town silly baby sister to a plush place. But I managed the show just by imitating my senior cousin. Not only a restaurant, I came out of many such fixing situations where I never knew how to conduct myself, I just copied the people in front of me with a smile on my face and a confident gaze. So don’t think copying is bad, copying behavior to learn things is primitive. An infant learns by copying its parents and people around. A language is caught rather than taught by imitating. We work on our skill sets by following an ideal or mentor. We pickup many a traits of ours; which we like in our parents, friends and spouse subconsciously just by replicating them. Same can be applied to an interview scenario, where you are confused to choose what type of body language, to...
